Preventing unwanted invaders

Thousands of unprotected water pipes are ruptured every year. The cause of the problem is foreign particles that get into private piping systems via the mains water connection.
Scientists have examined the root cause of this problem: without a protective filter, dangerous electro-chemical elements are formed in the water. These lead to corrosion and rust accumulation, pitting, and ultimately rupture of the pipe.

Regulations
According to German standard DIN 1988, protective filters are prescribed for metal pipes, and this will also apply in future for plastic pipes. The lack of this sensible acquisition can lead to unpleasant and expensive consequences.
