Temperatures In
an open-air pool, the water temperatures generally range from 22 to 25
°C, and in an indoor pool between 25 and 28 °C. In an indoor pool, a
relative air humidity of approx. 50 – 60 % would normally be set,
depending on the outside temperatures, the heat transmission and thus
also the dew-point. In the summer months and at higher outside
temperatures (fewer problems with falling below the dew-point), a
higher relative air humidity can be accepted than in the cold winter
months. Very low relative air humidity leads to quick drying of water
from the surface of the body (evaporation), which draws energy and
warmth from the body, and can cause shivering, even at higher air
temperatures. The room temperature should not be too high, about 2 to 3
°C above the temperature of the water, so that the speed of evaporation
is kept within tolerable limits.
